About Me

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog!

I am one of the lucky people who has known that I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I could remember. My mom would buy me old textbooks so I could play school. I'd line up all of my stuffed animals and "teach" them math.
My kindergarten picture (nobody let me know to show my teeth when taking a school picture...haha )
I got it together by first grade. The morning of this picture, my mom reminded me multiple times to show my teeth when I smiled. I don't blame her!
I am blessed with two amazing boys and a wonderful husband.  My son, Chase, is 9 and going into 4th grade. He loves all things all WWE and he has a genuine passion for learning. My youngest is 3 and always on the go. He is the happiest boy who loves being outside and "driving" his jeep. They always tell you to cherish every moment because it goes so fast. It is more than true. Some days I think I blinked and my babies grew up!I try to cherish every moment. My husband is a such a terrific father to our boys. I can't imagine having anyone else as my partner in this crazy life.

I started teaching in the fall of 2005. I was fortunate enough to be hired at the same school that I student taught at. I started my career as a third grade teacher and stayed there for two years. I then moved to first grade for seven years. This past school year, I looped with my class and taught second grade. I loved it so much more than I thought I would. I will again be teaching second grade this school year. I can't wait to do it again now that I have a better understanding of the curriculum and put my own spin on it this time!  I love my job! I work at the best building with the best co-workers and the best kids!!! We have so much fun together and love to show our school spirit!

I was honored to be the Emerson Excellence in Teaching elementary winner for my district this year.

School character day!

What day is it? Hump DAAAY!

  2. I would like to use your Tootling Guidelines poster in a project that I am doing for a grad class. Is it ok if I use it?
